Resolved: desktop tracking stopped for some users after the
October 24 update
After our October 24 desktop update, Rize stopped recording time
on some computers (about 3% of our users) until the app was
restarted. If you saw “Syncing” on your dashboard for hours, that
was us. We’re really sorry, and we take full responsibility.

Rize is a time tracker, and recording your time accurately is the
one thing you count on us for. We shipped a change that made
tracking stop, and we didn’t catch it before it reached you. We
sincerely apologize and take full responsibility. We will do
better.

Desktop 3.0.183 fixes it. Restart Rize and it’ll update on its
own. If it doesn’t, download the latest version at
app.rize.io/downloads ( https://app.rize.io/downloads ).

We’re also changing how we ship desktop updates: a new updater,
releases that go to 1%, then 5%, then 10% of users before
everyone, and more logging so we catch issues like this much
faster.
