<<Welcome in Tolgee! My job is to make sure you actually get value out of the platform. Over the next few days I'll send you 4 more emails, each focused on one thing that helps teams localize faster. Think of it as a short course, one idea at a time. Today: the two things worth doing in the first 10 minutes. 1️⃣ Create your first project. In Tolgee, a project is how you organize one app or product. If you're working on multiple apps, each gets its own project. That keeps your translation keys, languages, and team members separate and clean. 2️⃣ Set up your languages. This is where people sometimes rush and regret it. Pick your base language first and then the languages you actually need right now. You can always add more later. That's it. Two steps and you're set up properly. <<LOG IN AND CREATE YOUR FIRST PROJECT>> [https://app.tolgee.io/?utm_source=welcome-seq-d0&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=onboarding&utm_contents=tolgee-app-button] Language geek bonus: When selecting language, you select two things - language (the first two letters) and dialect (the second two letters). Dialect can be omitted. Tolgee comes from Czech republic, where we speak the only dialect of Czech. So is it better to select cs or cs-CZ? It always depends on further usage of the translations. cs would be specific enough here, but in some usages (e.g. adding translations to payment systems) dialect might be required, so cs-CZ is the safe variant here. Want to get a head start before tomorrow's email? Follow the quick start guide in the app. P.S. What made you sign up for Tolgee? I read every reply. And tomorrow I'll show you why most AI translations sound generic. And how to fix it. Happy localization!
