<<Fast In-context localization of an app >> [https://click.tolgee.io/img2/smvv2/f9d94b3c-92b1-42f4-b93c-93b95cfa6df3/content] Hi Emre Elbeyoglu, Yesterday you set up your project and languages. Let's make the translations actually good today. AI translations done right Here's what most people do wrong. They take a translation key, throw it at an AI, and get back something that is technically correct but feels a bit off. This is what happens when AI misses context. When Tolgee translates a key, it doesn't look at that key in isolation. It looks at what else is on the screen. What other keys appear nearby. How the text fits into the visual flow of the actual UI. A button that says "Submit" means something different on a payment page than on a feedback form. With context, the AI knows the difference. How do you give context to AI? Through screenshots. A screenshot of the page where the key appears tells the translator exactly what it needs to know. The easiest way to take screenshots is with our browser extension, available for Chrome [https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/tolgee-tools/hacnbapajkkfohnonhbmegojnddagfnj] and Firefox. [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tolgee-tools/] Install the extension, open your app in the browser, Alt-click any translation key and take a screenshot in the pop-up window. The screenshot goes straight to the Tolgee platform and the AI translator uses them from that point on. <<SET UP IN-CONTEXT>> [https://docs.tolgee.io/js-sdk/in-context?utm_source=welcome-seq-d1&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=onboarding&utm_contents=in-context-button] Developer bonus Here's a side effect your team will love. Once the extension is set up, anyone approved can open your app in the browser and edit translations directly on the page. Product manager wants to tweak the copy on the pricing page? They open it in the browser, Alt-click the text, change it. The update goes to Tolgee. No ticket, no PR, no waiting for developer to change strings. 🚀 Brand geek bonus Want to go one level deeper? Go to AI settings in your project and add a project description. This is where you tell the AI who you are. Your audience, your tone, how formal you want to sound, what to avoid. You can also add language notes for specific languages. Those are useful for things like formal vs. informal address in German or French. The more specific you are, the more the translations sound like you rather than...like a translation. Any questions? I am always just one e-mail away, so hit reply anytime. In the next e-mail I will show you how to make sure the AI never translates your brand name, product names, or key terms wrong. Plus a few other things that will make your workflow feel a lot smoother. ✨ Happy localization!
