The knowledge your team needs is almost never in one note. It is in a dozen, and turning that pile into something a person can read start to finish has always been the part nobody wants to do. Book Mode is rebuilt, and the sidebar is now the book. Add, rename, reorder and nest items, with no source Markdown to hand-edit and nothing to refresh. * One add menu. Existing notes, a new note, a note from a template, a URL, plus sections and dividers. * Drag to organize. Move items in and out of sections, or drop one item onto another to create a section around both. * Share the whole book. Shared links keep book context, and HackMD finds notes whose permissions are narrower than the book's and syncs them in one step. The Book Mode sidebar with the add menu open, showing options for notes, templates, URLs, and sections New books ask for permissions up front: Private, Public View, or Collaborative, which also sets the default reading mode. You can have HackMD create a folder to hold the book and the notes you make inside it, and notes that already exist stay where they are. ---------------- Ready to try it? ---------------- Your existing books do not change on their own. The first time you open one, HackMD asks whether to move it across or keep it on Classic, and you can switch either way later under Book settings.
