An approach to make the process of working with information simpler. A strategy for long-term note-taking Hi @there, This is our last email in this intro series. We hope you had fun learning about Capacities and exploring how the app can give you more clarity, space, and peace of mind. We want to leave you with some advice on how to make getting started with Capacities, and building a lasting knowledge system simple and effective. Start with pages, images, and web links. Don't over-optimize. Capacities already provides you with basic object types. Use them, create notes, add media, tag your content with general keywords that relate to your work. You’ll notice the basic object types automatically get created when you add that specific type to your space. They’re not visible until you actually need them, which saves you from overwhelm! If you find patterns, create your own object types. After a while, you might realize that you need more structure. You can now create custom object types . Create a book type with an author field, rating, and other properties and turn your book pages into books . It's important not to try creating a the perfect setup before you even start taking notes – that's something you would be tempted to do with folders. Let your thoughts flow and adjust your system over time. You will never know everything before you start. And the great thing: That's where the flexible structure of Capacities shines. Reorganizing is as simple as adding new tags and changing the object type of your notes. If you want to learn more, we recommend browsing our documentation or joining our community to exchange ideas with like-minded people. It's a great place to learn and get inspired. Let your system evolve over time Life can already be confusing and stressful enough — don’t add to that stress by trying to build a complicated system in Capacities. We built Capacities to be a home for your long-term knowledge, a safe space for all your great (and also maybe not so great) ideas. The best systems emerge naturally over time as you keep using the app. We know it’s tempting to jump into a fully developed system, but if you do, that system will never truly be yours. So start slow, start small, and keep coming back to Capacities every day with the things that matter most to you. And don’t worry! You’re never locked into a system. You can always change your mind; we’ve made changing from one object type to another super easy with the click of a button. We hope you’ve been loving Capacities!
