You're funnel hacking the wrong half

No dark-mode styles — this email renders the same in a dark client.

Funnel hacking means studying a funnel that already works in your market.

You go through it the way a buyer would, step by step.

Then you look for ideas you can use, so you don't have to guess.

It's a big part of how ClickFunnels thinks about building funnels, so you'll hear us talk about it a lot.

Most people start with the design.

They take screenshots and note the order of the sections, where the buttons go, and how each page looks.

That's a good start.

But it's only half of what the funnel can teach you.

The other half is the words.

Going through a funnel as a buyer is useful. Reading it like one isn't.

A buyer walks away with a feeling.

That was slick, or cheesy, or trying too hard.

But a feeling doesn't carry over to your own page.

A Funnel Hacker reads it differently.

They name the job of every part, so they can write their own version instead of copying the words.

Here's what to label, top to bottom:

- The hook: does it earn the second line, or just fill space?

- The promise: can you say it back in plain words? If you can't, that's your finding.

- The proof: is it someone else's result, a credential, or a demo of the thing working?

- The objection: which one did they choose to answer, and where did they put it?

- The ask: how specific is it?

- What's missing: the label people tend to skip.

After five or six pages, you'll begin to see the same patterns.

It's a bit like the few chord progressions behind a lot of the songs you know.

Once someone points one out, you can't stop hearing it.

And anything you can't label is either decoration or a gap.

On your own page, that's the part to fix first.

So pick one competitor's page today and read it twice.

The second time, label every part.

It usually takes about 15 minutes.

Then do the same with your own page.
