You nabbed a Free account, which means you’ve been magically teleported into the Awesomeverse.

Over the next week, we’ll send a few emails that will help you get up and icon-ing fast. Today, let’s start with Step 1: Creating your first Kit.

### What is a Kit anyway, and why should you care?

Think of a Kit like a suitcase for your icons. You pack it with the icons your project needs, then drop one line of code into your site, and boom! Instant icon delivery, no file wrangling required.

## Make Your First Kit

1️⃣ Log in to fontawesome.com (https://fontawesome.com/?medium=email&src=fa-app&series=onboarding&topic=1-first-icon)

2️⃣ Click "Your Kits" in the top menu

3️⃣ Select "Add New Kit"

Then follow these 3 steps:

1️⃣ Pick your icons — select the Free bundle (includes Classic Solid & Regular, and all Brand icons)

2️⃣ Choose your delivery method — start with “Hosted by Us” (you can skip adding your domain for now)

3️⃣ Customize — name it, pick a color and icon, and your Kit is good to go!

When you're done, copy the line of code (https://docs.fontawesome.com/web/setup/use-kit/?medium=email&src=fa-app&series=onboarding&topic=1-first-icon#put-your-kit-to-use) at the top of your Kit and paste it into the HTML "head" of your project.

## Add Your First Icon

Your Kit is live! Now drop this code into your project where you want your first icon to appear.

Open your project in a browser — and there it is, the thumbs-up icon. You did it!
