One MCP connection for your whole account, plugins for Claude Code and Codex, and an honest word about the month we rebooted everything. ( https://fly.io/?utm_campaign=Nov+%2726+Newsletter&utm_content=Email&utm_medium=email_action&utm_source=customer.io ) Your agent can drive Fly.io now. Hi folks, If you're keeping even half an eye on us, it'll be no news that we're pulling out all the stops to make everything Fly.io ridiculously easy for your agent to use. Yeah, Sprites are a great place to let your agents cook, but you'll probably need more than Sprites if your mind-blowing demo is ever going to become the next big thing. So now, your agent can drive pretty much everything Fly.io through one connection; mcp.fly.io ( https://mcp.fly.io/?utm_campaign=Nov+%2726+Newsletter&utm_content=Email&utm_medium=email_action&utm_source=customer.io ). Machines, volumes and Managed Postgres, the fam is all here. Our MCP server carries 27 Sprites tools, 48 Fly tools and 14 Managed Postgres tools, with more on the way. Point your agent at it, sign in once. Your agent can do infra now. You can paste mcp.fly.io into any MCP client by hand, but if you live in Claude Code or Codex, try the plugins! They come packaged with spicy extras that the bare URL route won't give you, most notably a set of skills that teach the agent how Fly.io works. Setup is a one liner. In Claude Code, run /plugin marketplace add superfly/sprites-claude-plugin and then /plugin install fly@sprites. In Codex, run codex plugin marketplace add superfly/sprites-codex-plugin, restart, and pick Fly from the marketplace that's now labelled Fly.io. Let Your Agent Drive (Without Handing It the Keys) Was October '26 about severe emotional trauma and a growing sense of existential dread for you? If not, you probably don't work in tech. Either way, last month handed us all a series of strong reminders to keep security at the very front of our minds. The Fly MCP server reflects this: Credentials stay on our side. When the agent creates a Machine or a volume, Fly mints a credential that lives for 60 seconds, makes the one call, and throws it away. It never reaches the agent, so there's nothing in the agent's context for a bad prompt to fish out. You choose what it can touch. When you sign in, you pick the organization, the apps the agent may work on and what it can do with Sprites. Tools for anything you didn't approve don't show up at all, so the agent can't even try them. Every call is checked against what you granted at that moment, so revoke access and the very next call fails, with no leftover token to wait out. The Postgres tools can't delete anything. They can look at clusters, backups and slow queries, and they can create things. They can't delete, can't create or change users or passwords, and never hand back a password. Errors point somewhere useful. When a call fails, the error now tells the agent what to do next instead of sending it off confidently in the wrong direction. It's still in beta, mostly because we're still adding tools, so tell us which ones you want. If you want the long version of why the server is built like it is, Feng Shui for Robots: The Fly MCP Server ( https://fly.io/blog/feng-shui-for-robots/?utm_campaign=Nov+%2726+Newsletter&utm_content=Email&utm_medium=email_action&utm_source=customer.io ) is the one to read. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Not on Claude Code or Codex? Whatever agent you use, fly setup agent ( https://fly.io/changelog/give-your-agent-the-fly-cli/?utm_campaign=Nov+%2726+Newsletter&utm_content=Email&utm_medium=email_action&utm_source=customer.io ) gets it there in one go: it installs our agent skills ( https://github.com/superfly/skills?utm_campaign=Nov+%2726+Newsletter&utm_content=Email&utm_medium=email_action&utm_source=customer.io ), writes the MCP configuration for mcp.fly.io, and walks you through signing in. Update flyctl first; it landed in v0.5.2. If you only want the skills, fly skills installs those on their own. Factory just shipped droid 1.0, and it comes with Fly MCP support and a Fly plugin ( https://fly.io/changelog/use-droid-with-fly/?utm_campaign=Nov+%2726+Newsletter&utm_content=Email&utm_medium=email_action&utm_source=customer.io ). There's a whole shelf of other plugins on the ecosystem page ( https://fly.io/sprites/ecosystem/?utm_campaign=Nov+%2726+Newsletter&utm_content=Email&utm_medium=email_action&utm_source=customer.io ). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Inside Flyball Agents helped us reboot the fleet. Our Cyber Security Awareness Month participation award came in the form of the need to patch and reboot our entire fleet on October 16th. Mid-incident, one of our engineers wrote a reboot-tracker MCP server that gave agents the schedule and live progress. The agents watched the logs and handled the simple reboots, which freed the humans for the hosts sulking in BIOS. We couldn't have done it in 10 hours without them, which is such a wild thing to acknowledge in the context of October '26. Keep an eye on the blog for a full write up. An Oban Odyssey ( https://fly.io/changelog/an-oban-odyssey/?utm_campaign=Nov+%2726+Newsletter&utm_content=Email&utm_medium=email_action&utm_source=customer.io ). One of us got annoyed at a slow internal job dashboard and fell down a rabbit hole of Oban fixes. If you run Elixir on Fly, it's a good one. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ On the Blog Feng Shui for Robots: The Fly MCP Server One connection, every Fly.io product, and why the server is shaped the way it is.
