Giving agents business context isn’t enough. Where the work happens decides the cost.

CData Labs benchmark • 27 models, 2 MCP gateways

 Hi Emre,

How a gateway serves business context to AI agents decides whether they get the answer right and what it costs. But giving agents the context is only half the job.

CData Labs ran 27 models through Connect AI Gateway and another popular MCP gateway, with the same business context. When models got the same task right through both, they typically used 93% fewer tokens through CData Connect AI Gateway, which serves context on demand and runs the computation itself. Through the other gateway, far more answers came back confidently wrong.

That’s also what makes cheaper models usable. Through Connect AI Gateway, economy models completed 78% of their tasks. Through the other gateway, they completed 17%.
