Questions about getting started with Depot?

Hey there,

Your trial’s been live for a few days, but we haven’t seen any activity yet. Thought we’d share answers to the most common
questions developers ask when they’re starting out with Depot:
 
Depot CI
 * How do I migrate my workflows? Run depot ci migrate to copy your workflows from .github/ to .depot/.

 * Can I run Depot CI alongside GitHub Actions? Yes. Your .github/ workflows keep running untouched while you test in .depot/.

 * Do I need to rewrite my YAML? No. Depot CI is GitHub Actions compatible, your existing workflows just work.

 
Container builds
 * How do I push to a private registry? Use the --push flag. Depot works with any registry you’re logged into with docker login.

 * Can I use docker-compose? Yep. Try depot bake -f docker-compose.yml then docker-compose up.

 * Does it work with M1/M2 Macs? Yes, Depot supports native Arm builds out of the box.

 
GitHub Actions
 * How do I use Depot’s runners? Connect your GitHub org and add a Depot Runners [http://depot.dev/docs/github-actions/quickstart]
   label in your workflow.

 * Why use Depot’s runners? Faster compute, 10× faster caching, no concurrency limits.
