Hi there,
We re writing to let you know about some changes to Square s Terms of Service, which will become effective on October 10, 2026.
Here are the key changes:
We ve updated the General Terms of Service to clarify the procedures for opting out of arbitration, provide more information about how backup payment methods are updated in the event of a failed subscription payment, changes relating to the content and other information we may collect about your business, and the applicable license rights associated with that information.
The Payment Terms of Service now include terms applicable to SNAP/EBT payment acceptance.
The Multi-Account Suite Terms of Service have been updated to describe the new Multi-Account Suite services, which will replace Square for Franchises, and remove terms for features Square will no longer provide. The updates also define our roles, rights, and responsibilities for third-party partner integrations and related data sharing, and explain what happens if a seller stops participating in a Multi-Account Organization.
We ve included a new Commercial Entity Agreement with Block s industrial bank, Square Financial Services, Inc. (SFS), that establishes a direct relationship between sellers who process payments and SFS.
The Neighborhoods Terms of Service have been updated to include terms relating to Local Cash Rewards for team members and clarifications relating to alcohol sales.
The Developer Terms of Service now include terms applicable to CAN-SPAM compliance.
We encourage you to review these updated terms in full, which will apply to you if you continue to use our products and services on and after October 10, 2026.
